The Short Version About Me

I always wanted to be a journalist. Then a dancer. At some point I thought I’d be the Nr 1 business woman in Sweden.

What happened?

I became a stainless steel worker. Well, not in the sense of working at the mill (although that would have been interesting as well). What I did was to drill in to two main parts of the company: business development and web marketing.

After high school, I went traveling the world until I ended up deciding to get a degree in Business Management. And I chose to specialize in the service industry. It was all I wanted – new knowledge in a customized package. I was studying marketing, communications, change management and much more – all in a package designed for the experience economy where intangible is the word. In fact, have you noticed how the experience economy is growing steadily every day since the end of industrialization? And I for one simply love to see how the experience economy is intertwined and playing together with technology. Combine the service management theories with technological advancements and you have what I’d like to call: The technological experience economy. And what it all drills down to is people.

Coming from the service management perspective where the people truly are the centerpiece of your advancements: Marketing today is simpleInteraction with people and the developing technology and media channels. What it means in practice is that the “normal” ways of working with central communications or marketing functions, steering activities without involving the organization – will decrease. Marketing today means utilizing digital opportunities to grow your business. Digital opportunities are people and knowledge dependent and therefor another kind of mobilization within organizations must be embraced. This is how we create a competitive advantage A.K.A results and contribute to sustainable organizations.
