Preparing for European visual storytelling

This weekend in Vienna a whole bunch of visual practitioners were set to meet up and share knowledge and inspiration. Obviously we all got notifications of cancelled travel. And Markus and the organizing team swiftly reacted and refunded our event tickets. A week or so later they announced that it won’t be completely cancelled but rather adjusted by taking the opportunity to explore an online version. A timely response.

I’m not fully recovered from the virus that hit me 11 march. But at least I can still participate a bit and see my fellow visual practitioner colleagues around Europe. There won’t be physical hugs as usual but I’m sure we’ll find our way around the physicality of it. And no fear of spreading the virus pheww.

Moment from IFVP international visual practitioners conference, Denmark

If I’m still having energy in the afternoon for the barcamp I look forward to doing some nature-related experience/ visual manifestation. Here in Sweden we are allowed still to go outdoors. The walks through the park towards the sea has helped me a lot during this time. And for those who do not have access to nature closeby, life on the balcony or terrace could also work. Or with a walk through the streets finding nature in all corners still.

So the 2nd of May will be a full day online with visual practitioners from all over Europe. Also glad to again see mister David Sibbet. I remember last time at the international conference in Denmark.

David left quite an impression. Since then I very much enjoy reading his well composed reflections via his email newsletters.

(More pictures and video from that international visual practitioners conference in my reflection here: https://minalegnered.com/2018/08/06/euviz-and-visual-practitioners-in-my-heart/ )

Will be exciting to learn how the facilitating team organize a large group of visual people during a whole day. I’m sure it will be a fascinating experience and I imagine we’ll have quite a few dynamic sessions as well.

Thanks to Markus Engelberger and the facilitating team for hosting this meetup that should have happened this entire weekend in Vienna.

And thanks to the EVP organizing team for keeping us all informed, inspired and motivated. Karl, Sandra, Mark, Elaine, Filippo, Henk 🙏

Here’s the link to register if you’re interested and haven’t yet signed up. I’m pretty sure you can still join https://www.eventbrite.com/e/evp-spring-meetup-2020-tickets-101469568210
