My experience at the European Parliament

When I moved to Brussels in 2009 while working on Business Process Development, little did I know that a few years later I’d end up working in Digital Communications at the European Parliament.

I’d like to share with you two of my main achievements with the EPP Group in the European Parliament.

1. Social Media Community Manager

Team FB Global Pages

I kick-started a cross-cultural Social Media Team representing our 11 active Facebook Global Pages. Once per week key team members, consisting of press advisors from respective country, gathered to share best practices and develop new ideas. The team was engaged and inspired. With commonly agreed guidelines we managed to decentralise the publication strategy and make the digital communication lean and engaging.

2. New video culture

When I arrived to the EPP Group, the TV department was only doing traditional, long reportages about the ongoings in the European Parliament.

I coordinated a small, new production team and developed a video strategy towards more social media friendly videos.

Our videos grew in popularity. Appreciated not only by the public but also by the Members of Parliament who got to do do new and inspiring things in our collaborations.

Here is a small selection for you to get an idea on the work I produced:

Why I became a Politician

Brian Hayes MEP, Ireland

Roberta Metsola MEP, Malta
