There’s a reason why we choose a certain career path. Being in the marketing and advertising industry is diverse, fun and intense. Sometimes you’ll spend an entire day in front of your screen doing research or composing proposals. Other days are ultimately dynamic and hightempo. Today was a good example of one of those hightempo days.

Morning kicks off with a coffee and a Skype dialogue on exchange of business opportunities with ZN Consulting, a Communications Agency located in Brussels.
11.00 Arrival at Scania Ghana Offices
Happy to have arrived at a premiere Swedish company who recently was awarded the Logistics Award of the Year for their continous improvements in logistics and sustainability. Scania may very well be the first Swedish Company we would be working with. Being a Swede myself, I have to say it feels a bit special to have the chance to help a fellow country business. And their offices happen to have that particular Scandinavian touch that makes me feel right at home.
11.15 Scania Intro Meeting Starts![]()

The objective of this meeting was to get a better understanding of their communication needs. We were aiming to meet with three key people other than Fredrik Morsing MD of Scania Ghana. Nicely enough there were a few visitors from the Scania headquarters so we ended up with a good crowd and got some valuable inputs. I managed to get almost all 10 people in the room in the selfie.
12.40 Feedback Meeting with the French Embassy
With a few minutes delay we made it back to the office to have a feedback session with Delphine at the French Embassy. They are planning a Gourmet Event in about 10 days and we’re helping them to create a 8-page brochure that will be handed out during the event. We’ll also be there covering the event with video interviews.
13.30–14.00 Lunch Break
Yepp you’ve gotta eat to get through the day. Luckily Mercy who comes twice a week, has an amazing aptitude for cooking so we get to try out all kinds of local dishes in our own kitchen space. (forgot to take a picture here..)
14.00 Brief with Nicolas of SDMO Generators
SDMO is looking to organize a special event to create awareness of their products. We were brainstorming around a few cool ideas. It’ll be electric. That’s all I can say for the moment. And of course we had to get a picture all together around the new Mazda 3. Isn’t it a beauty. We’re all in love.
15.30 Write-up job description
Ghana Sweden Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Project Assistant that preferrably speaks Swedish. We’re managing the recruitment process.
17.00 Mazda 3 in Grey Arrives for our test shoot
17.30 Preparation is key
18.00 Evaluation of the photoset with Akosua our creative photographer
19.00 There goes another day that is about to end.
Just a few scribbles to remember this day and share it with whomever discovering this post and curious what it’s like being in the industry.
Thanks for reading
Mina
