I am ready to serve the world

My time as a servant for a few is gone. I enter a new stage of my life when all the knowledge I have acquired and the experience that comes with it, can be harnessed for serving a bigger community.

My path has evolved in a not so obvious way. I was the “rebellion” who didn’t want to submit myself to years of studying unless I really felt a passion to do so. After high school, how many students actually know what they want to dedicate their lives to? I’d say it depends on the education you’ve been given. Looking at schools like Decroly from Belgium, the cornerstone of the education is to enable the kids to identify and early on practice what they love to do and are skilled at. They unlock the talents which leads to fewer “lost souls”.

I went to a Milonga last night in Barcelona. I didn’t know anyone there when I arrived, but I had the pleasure to engage in a conversation with two people.

The girl is from France and has lived 10 years in Barcelona. She has a degree in professional translation. She can’t find work doing what she’s educated in, so she works in a bit of this and that to earn a living. “Are you planning on staying here in Barcelona?” I ask. She looks hopeful, yet there is a distinct tone of hopelessness in her voice. “I don’t know,” she responds with a sigh. “For the moment I’m here but if I can’t find the job I really want to have..,” She makes a pause. Another sigh follows. She shrugs her shoulders as if to say, “I’m lost.”

The boy is from Malta and is traveling around. He’s been in Barcelona a few weeks. “How long are you staying for?” I ask. “I don’t know really,” he answers with a sigh. I recognize it from speaking with the girl. It sounds to me like they are in the same kind of crossroads and neither option sheds any light. “I’m lost,” he continues. “I had a good job, working as a contractor. My latest project was in banking. But, I guess..” he stops. I watch as his head turns down. He is thinking. I wonder if it is “is it really true what I’m about to say to this stranger.” He continues with a small laughter, as he has himself just realized: “I guess life isn’t all about money”.

I have been lost, I have been found. If we aren’t taught to understand our passion and purpose in life as kids.. we’re quite eligible to be a little bit lost along the way.  (See my post from Dec 2014)

One thing I can say for sure, is that I am born to serve. How I choose to take it to practice, can and has taken various shapes.

Coming months I will be building a new power station. This power station will consist of myself, my partner and the network of great, exceptional people we include. With a facilitated collaboration model, it will serve sustainable and positive energy to a large community.

Waves of energy, coming your way.
