THE Collaterals

Now that I’m job hunting, I have my mind set on the sector I want to work in: Digital Marketing and Communications. Today technology and communications are developing hand in hand in a speedy pace and I want to be part of making the most out of Digital Opportunities.

And shoot me if you will (at least my friends thought I was slightly crazy to put all my cards on one table) but I only have one company in mind that I want to work for and that is ZN.be

I’m thinking: How to stand out? They must get a billion applicants all the time and now that they have a job opening it should be even twofold. How can I make the cut to even get to the interview?

This is what I did:

  1. I created this online hub to visualize my knowledge in a fun and creative way
  2. I created a special blog post where I proposed a time for an interview and offered the viewer to accept
  3. I then created a QR code with a link to the particular blog post and printed it on normal paper
  4. I took two of my old business cards with Outokumpu and put the QR code on the back – with tejp. On the front I wrote “Tuesday July 12th, 10.00?” with a big arrow to turn the card
  5. I put the handcrafted cards in an envelope each and mailed them to the ZN offices
  6. Once the recipient Philip Weiss and / or Nicholas Brooke would open it, they would scan the QR code and arrive at the blog post, urging them to accept an interview with me 🙂
