The Department of Service Management. Started in 2000, it was the first department built on the Nordic School of Service Management. At the department, the service industries are studied from a multidisciplinary perspective, combining insights from management, marketing, social science and the humanities. It is a leading research institution, with more than 30 internationally published researchers.
The Department of Service Management hosts several bachelor degree programmes, single subjects courses, PhD candidate programme, consultative training as well as the new Master of Science Programme in Service Management with two specializations; Tourism & Hospitality and Retail.
Research
Current research in the department is focused upon the study of services, understood broadly. Tourism, hospitality, quality, place marketing, consumption, health and the organisation of health services are all strong research fields.
